Trevor Barker was an inspiring player for St. Kilda Football Club for over 14 seasons. He was St. Kilda's Best & Fairest player twice and represented his State seven times. Following
a successful VFL/AFL career, Trevor went on to coach VFA team Sandringham
to two premierships and then onto coach the St. Kilda reserves in two
finals. In September of the same year, the Trevor Barker Foundation was established to continue the memory and inspirational work of a remarkable man. 'Trevor
was always there for other people when they needed him. Two weeks before
he died, he got a call about a young boy who was feeling suicidal. Trevor
made time to go and give him a reason to keep on living. Trevor never
gave up on himself and he never gave up on anyone else.'
